Dutch baritone Wim Ritzerfeld originally studied Electrical
Engineering, for which
he holds a Master's Degree.
He studied voice with a.o.
Joep Bröcheler and Donald
Miller.
He visited several Summer Schools in the UK, where he worked with
tutors like Robin Bowman
and
John Huw
Davies and took part in
many other courses and workshops. He also studied at the
Dutch Schumann Academy.
As a bass/baritone soloist he has performed a broad range of works,
ranging from baroque to contemporary, including cantatas by Bach and Handel, the Mozart, Fauré and
Duruflé Requiems, the orchestral song cycle "Five Mystical Songs"
by Vaughan Williams and Orff's "Carmina Burana".
He takes a keen interest in vocal pedagogy and in ways to approach
the complex subject of vocal technique in an objective manner. He has
eleborated his views In a recently published book (in Dutch), called
"Klassieke Zangtechniek"
("Classical Vocal Technique").
